Story Image 1

In a cosy kitchen filled with colourful pots and pans, little Sophie was ready for an adventure. Today was bun baking day! Her teddy bear, Mr. Fluff, was seated on the counter, wearing his tiny chef’s hat, eagerly watching.

Mummy had set out all the ingredients on the big, wooden table. There was a bag of flour, a bowl of sugar, a carton of eggs, a jar of milk, and a block of butter. Sophie clapped her hands, excited to begin!

“Let’s start by mixing everything,” Mummy said, handing Sophie a big mixing spoon. Sophie dipped the spoon into the flour, creating a little cloud of white dust all around. She giggled, and Mr. Fluff looked like he had just been to a snowy land!

“Oh dear!” said Mummy, laughing. “Looks like Mr. Fluff needs a bath after this!”

Sophie carefully added the sugar and butter, giggling as the butter slipped between her fingers like a little yellow fish. With a bit of help, she cracked the eggs too, making a fun squishy sound.

Then came the milk. Sophie poured it slowly, watching it swirl around like a magical river. “Mix, mix, mix!” she sang, stirring with all her might.

Soon, the mixture was ready. Mummy showed Sophie how to shape the dough into little buns. Sophie made some round, some long, and even one shaped like Mr. Fluff!

Mummy placed the buns in the warm oven. Sophie and Mr. Fluff sat by the oven door, their little noses pressed against the glass, watching the buns rise and turn golden.

But suddenly, a big “POP!” echoed in the kitchen. The oven door swung open, and out came a puff of smoke! The buns had grown too big and burst out of their shapes.

Sophie looked surprised, her eyes wide like saucers. Mr. Fluff tumbled off the counter, landing right on top of the flour bag, sending another white cloud into the air.

“Oh, what a messy kitchen!” chuckled Mummy, wiping flour off her nose.

Instead of being upset, Sophie thought it was the funniest thing ever. She laughed and laughed, and even Mr. Fluff seemed to be smiling under his floury hat.

“Let’s see what we can do,” Mummy said, scooping up the sticky buns from the oven tray. They might not have looked perfect, but they smelled delicious.

Sophie and Mummy sat at the table with a plate of funny-shaped buns. They tasted sweet and buttery, just like a warm hug. Sophie shared one with Mr. Fluff, who looked very pleased indeed.

The kitchen might have been a floury mess, but Sophie’s bun baking adventure was a day to remember. With sticky fingers and happy tummies, they all agreed it was the best bun baking day ever!
